Perhaps you’re crushing on someone, or maybe your significant other is far away from you and you want to be with them while you sleep.

For one reason or another, you want to dream about someone specific. The good news is that this is very much possible so long as you know how to do it.

In this article, I will give you 10 tricks you can do to dream of someone specific.

1) Regularly visualize them in your mind

The first thing you should do is to regularly visualize them in your mind.

Think of the way their laugh would ring in your ears, the way they smelled as you passed them by, their laugh, and even their touch. Be as detailed as possible.

Build as complete a picture as you can with all five senses and make sure you bring that image in your mind at least once a day. Imagine yourself interacting with them.

This will sear their image into both your conscious and subconscious mind, which means that your brain becomes more likely to bring them up in your dreams.

2) Visit places they like to frequent

Another thing you can do is to visit places where they usually hang out.

Your first goal is to become familiar with these places so that you can easily conjure them in your mind and imagine yourself walking around them.

After that, do your best to connect your memory of these places with the person you have in mind.

For example, if the place is a coffee shop that they drop by before work, then you can try to associate the coffee shop with the specific brew of coffee that they are especially fond of.

The more places you assign a certain memory or task related to that person, the easier it is to be reminded of them when you stumble upon these places in your dreams.

3) You want to dream of your soulmate?

Perhaps you want your dreams to reveal who your soulmate is, or perhaps you have an idea who they are and you want your dreams to give you more clues.

Sad to say, your soulmate’s face won’t magically appear in your dreams.

You need the help of a psychic for that.

The good news is that it’s not so hard to find one. I’ve just stumbled upon someone who helped me…  a professional psychic artist who can draw a sketch of what your soulmate looks like.

Even though I was a bit skeptical at first, my friend convinced me to try it out a few weeks ago.

Now I know exactly what he looks like. The crazy thing is that I recognized him right away.

If you’re ready to find out what your soulmate looks like, get your own sketch drawn here.

4) Have a picture of them near you

Keeping a picture (or sketch) of them near your bed is a good trick to make sure they’re always present in your subconscious mind.

A physical photograph works well, but if you can’t have that for one reason or another, then having them on your phone is a decent enough substitute.

In fact, having them as your phone background goes a long way to make sure you’re constantly reminded of them. After all, we’re always on our phones.

The reason why it’s important to always remind yourself of the person you want to dream about is because most of the time dreams are just out of your control the moment they begin. But they are influenced by whatever has been occupying your mind during your waking hours.

So if you condition yourself to think of them all the time, then the chances that you’ll dream about them increases.

5) Practice lucid dreaming

It’s very much possible to control your dreams. With training and practice, you can exercise what is called “lucid dreaming”.

See, one of the main reasons why dreams just seem to do whatever they want is because we simply aren’t aware that we’re dreaming. So what happens is that we simply let ourselves be swept along the turbulent currents of our dream-scape.

As turbulent as that dream-scape is, it’s also something that’s well within our ability to manipulate. We can’t crush the chaos, but we can learn to tame it.

All we need is to be aware of the fact that we’re dreaming.

And lucid dreaming is all about making sure that when we’re asleep and dreaming, we’re fully aware of it.

Of course, knowing how to do lucid dreaming doesn’t invalidate everything else on this list—everything you can do to make it easier on yourself helps.

6) Write down what you want to dream about

Get a notebook and write down what you want to see in your dreams. Not just the person you want to meet, but also the things you want to do, hear, touch, or smell.

While it’s almost a guarantee that nothing will happen exactly as you penned it, establishing a clear image for your mind to work with will help guide your subconscious as it shapes your dreams.

You may, say, write down that you want to see that person meet you at a park, have a conversation with you, and then take you for a walk by the seaside before giving you a kiss on the lips.

Read it over a few times, and chances are that when a couple of these might come true. You might dream of meeting them at the park before heading to a pizza shop, for example.

7) Picture a future with them and trust it will happen

You have the power to create your reality…and it all starts in the mind.

Envision the life you truly want—one with your soulmate in it—and your subconscious will lead you to turn it into reality.

What’s great about this is that by imagining your future (and trusting that it will come true), you will often dream of them…which in turn would help you turn them into reality.

You see, so much of what we believe to be reality is just a construction. We can actually reshape that to create fulfilling lives that are in line with what matters most to us.

The truth is:

Once we remove the social conditioning and unrealistic expectations our family, education system, even religion has put onto us, the limits to what we can achieve is endless.

I learned this (and much more) from the world-renowned shaman Rudá Iandé. In this excellent free video, Rudá explains how you can lift the mental chains and get back to the core of your being.

A word of warning, Rudá isn’t your typical shaman.

He’s not going to reveal pretty words of wisdom that offer false comfort.

Instead, he’s going to force you to look at yourself in a way you have never before. It’s a powerful approach, but one that works.

So if you’re ready to take this first step and align your dreams with your reality, there’s no better place to start than with Rudá’s unique method.

8) Talk to them before you sleep

And no, I don’t mean picking up a phone and then dialing their number, as useful as that honestly is.

What I mean is that, as you lie down in bed about to fall asleep, imagine that they’re with you and talk to them out loud.

Perhaps tell them about how your day went, and say that you wish they were there with you. It’s like talking to your teddy bear, or saying a prayer, except it’s them.

Try to say their name as many times as you can. This centers your mind around them, and their absence—or presence—in your day.

And to end the conversation, say something like “let’s meet in my dreams,” or “I look forward to dreaming about you.”

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “this is too crazy”, and it probably is. But hey, it’s an effective hack if you’re really serious about meeting them in your dreams.

9) Meditate a while before you sleep

While it’s always good to give it your all on things you want to happen, you might end up stressing yourself out too much and end up ruining things.

That stress will definitely bleed into your dreams and you will probably not like what you’ll see.

For example, you might end up dreaming of them as you have always wanted, but because of how stressed you are, that same dream will quickly turn into a nightmare.

And that’s the last thing you want.

So what you should do is take the time to meditate and calm your nerves. Try doing some breath exercises to calm your nerves and settle your mind. If you pray, go ahead and pray.

The point is to calm the mind so you can welcome them in your dreams.

10) Expect to see them in your dreams

The right mindset goes a long way to getting things going.

This applies not just to things such as work or hobbies, but also here in your attempts to conjure someone dear to you in your dreams.

Put yourself in the mindset that you’re not just trying to see them in your dreams, but that you expect to see them there. That you will dream about them is a given, rather than something you have to work hard to make happen.

This is one way you can yoke your mind and get it to obey your wishes. It’s a good trick if you’re an anxious person.

Establish this expectation firmly enough and eventually your mind will obey, turning them into a regular fixture in your dreams.

11) Write your dreams down

Writing down remains one of the best ways to tie down your dreams to the waking world.

Dreams often vanish very quickly after we wake, leaving us with fleeting impressions of the fantasies we conjured in or sleep.

So that’s why it’s a very good idea to make a dream journal and write down everything you can recall of your dreams after you wake.

This is one way you can keep track of how well you’ve been doing. You might have managed to dream about them consistently enough, for example, but had simply failed to notice because you weren’t keeping track.

12) Just keep trying

Don’t expect immediate success even if you’ve done all the tricks in this list.

None of the things listed here are instant or take effect quickly. It will take a while for you to condition your mind so that you can dream about them consistently.

Even lucid dreaming is a skill that takes a lot of practice to consistently achieve, and even then you may still sometimes fail to induce lucid dreams after months of practice.

That’s why you should just keep trying if you want to dream of that specific someone.

A word of caution, however. Once you manage to dream of them consistently and, for some reason, you want to stop dreaming about them, it will also take a while to make your brain stop bringing them up.

How do your attempts affect them?

It’s easy to think that your attempts at dreaming about them aren’t going to affect them at all.

But there’s more to dreams than you may realize at first

1) They will dream about you more

When you sleep, your mind is more in tune with the ebb and flow of the universe, and the more you think of or dream about someone the more likely it is that you’ll affect their dreams too.

And one of the most obvious ways this will manifest is that you’ll show up in their dreams.

Perhaps you will be there in the background, or perhaps they will interact with you directly. Even if you aren’t there in all of their dreams, you will regardless show up somewhat consistently in their dreams.

This can lead to a feedback loop where, because you try hard to get them to show up in your dreams, you end up showing up in theirs. And because they keep on dreaming about you, they’ll think about you and then unwittingly manifest themselves in your dreams.

2) They will process their feelings about you

Dreams are where our minds process our experiences for the day, from our frustrations and stresses to the blessings we have received.

By focusing on them so much, your presence will register in their subconscious, and they are reminded to process their feelings for you as well… whatever those feelings may be.

Your own feelings will also bleed into their dreams, and this gives them a subconscious awareness of your feelings when they return to the waking world.

This is once more something that doesn’t necessarily happen overnight. Don’t expect them to one day come to terms with their feelings because they have dreamed about you once.

3) A spiritual bond is formed between the two of you

Something that you might not realize is that by focusing this much on one particular person, you’re doing more than just entrenching them in your own mind. You’re also reaching out to them on the spiritual plane and forming a bond.

If you happen to be soulmates or twin flames, then instead what bond exists between the two of you is awoken and strengthened.

You can think of this bond as the inevitable trail formed as your thoughts repeatedly reach out to theirs, and theirs reach back to you in turn. It’s not unlike how a dirt path is formed if a certain path is trod consistently enough through grass.

And it’s this bond that is the reason why it’s easier for you to constantly dream of so long as you keep trying.

Conclusion

There’s a lot you can do to train your mind to dream of someone specific. But it’s not something you can just do—or stop doing—on the drop of a hat.

You can’t just go “I want to dream about my crush” and expect to dream about them that same night.

It takes a lot of time and effort to condition your mind. And most of that conditioning involves associating as many memories, sensations, and places with that someone as you could.

So you must be absolutely sure that this person is worth it. The last thing you want is to keep dreaming about someone who hurt you.
